2015 Caf Confederation Cup champions, Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia will
arrive Nigeria on Friday ahead of Sunday’s Caf Champions League second
round, first leg tie which takes place at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium
in Port Harcourt.
Enyimba are seeking to qualify for the group stage of the lucrative African club competition for the first time since 2011 where they went as far as the semi final with only two matches away from achieving that.
Making this known to Goal, the Chairman of Enyimba FC Felix Anyansi-Agwu expressed that the Tunisian side have sent words to them that they would be hitting Nigeria on Friday but that the visitors kept sealed lips on their itinerary.
“We have been told they would be arriving on Friday. We are prepared for them and we are targeting a good win at home before the second leg in Tunisia. We are very ready for this match and nothing can stop us,” Anyansi-Agwu told Goal.
He said Enyimba are ready for the first leg tie and that the People’s Elephant will strive to get a good result in Port Harcourt before the return leg tie in Tunis on 19 or 20 April, 2016.
Enyimba defeated Vital’O FC of Burundi 6-3 on aggregate to get to this stage of the competition while Etoile dislodged Olympique Khouribga of Morocco 3-1 on aggregate to set up the encounter with the Nigerian champions.
