'Real Madrid defended like an Under-10s team'

Steve McManaman slammed Real Madrid's defending during their 2-0 Champions League defeat to Wolfsburg, accusing the Blancos of making infantile mistakes.

First-half goals from Ricardo Rodriguez and Maximilan Arnold put Zinedine Zidane's men in danger of crashing out at the quarter-final stage, raising the prospect of another trophyless year at the Santiago Bernabeu.

And McManaman, who played with Zidane during his time in the Spanish capital, pointed the finger at the club's back-line - especially the two Brazilians out wide.

"I thought they were woeful, I really did,” McManaman fired on BT Sport.
"From the highs of getting a good result on Saturday to really low lows tonight.
"Defensively the right-back [Danilo] and left-back [Marcelo] were just all over the place, coupled with Pepe and [Sergio] Ramos who looked like they hadn't played with each other before.
